2026 Important Dates Calendar

January 1
Date property values and exemptions are established according to their status and condition.
January 19
Offices Closed - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
February 16
Offices Closed - Presidents Day
March 1
Deadline for property owners to file for exemptions and/or agricultural or other classifications.
April 1
Deadline for owners of tangible personal property to file a Form VC-405 return.
April 3
Offices Closed - Good Friday
May 25
Offices Closed - Memorial Day
June 1
Deadline for Senior Exemption applicants to provide income documentation.
June to July
Property owners who want to appeal a denial of exemption, classification, portability, or tax deferral, must file a petition with the Value Adjustment Board (VAB) within 30 days of the mailing date on the official denial.
July 1
The Preliminary Tax Roll is certified.
July 3
Offices Closed - Independence Day
Mid August
Notice of Proposed Property Taxes (NOPPT) or Truth in Millage (TRIM) notices are mailed to property owners.
Mid Sept.
Deadline for property owners to file a petition who want to appeal their property value to the Value Adjustment Board (VAB).
Sept./Oct.
Property owners may provide input at taxing authorities' public hearings to adopt a tentative budget and millage rate.
Sept. 7

The Final Tax Roll is certified.
November 1
Tax bills are mailed by the Tax Collector.
